A new art exhibition entitled Silent: Listen 2 by Navan artist Mary Clarke which explores the effects and threats of global climate change will run at the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre from Tuesday 3 to Friday 27 March.
The collection presents a series of abstract painted works on canvas and photographic paper with collaged photo prints. Enveloped in themes of climate change and environment, Mary exhibits her vibrant collection of images in an impactful visual display with an important message. Be Silent and listen, our planet speaks.
Mary explores the necessity to be still, observe and pay heed to the catastrophic global issues relating to climate change that speak to us daily. The viewer is asked to pay attention or pay the price.
Attempting to tackle widespread apathy and inaction whilst helping to visualise the effects and threats of global climate change, Mary depicts images of glacial melting ice masses, deep sea colour and futuristic images in brilliant technicolour. Mary attempts to engage the imagination and provoke a reaction, all in an effort to inspire a positive response.
