Under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act (Northern Ireland) 2011, the Council can make Gating Orders. Council must assess evidence provided by the “Promoter” and any other evidence of crime and anti-social behaviour in the area and must be satisfied that gating the road will contribute to its reduction.
